MOUNTAIN BIKING: South Willamette

← OR MIDDLE FORK WILLAMETTE RIVER JASPER Single Tracks →

Description

This singletrack trail is about 7 miles long and runs along the south side of the Willamette river. However, it doesn't run directly along the river/reservoir, but instead climbs up and down the foothills of the surrounding mountains.

Beware that some of these trails are rather muddy during the wet season here, and that the forest service requests that riders not use them during these times.<br />
An excellent map (Oakridge Area MTB Trail Map) complete with suggested rides is available through local bike shops or on-line. Shuttle rides to the upper trailheads are also available in nearby Oakridge.

Directions

From Eugene take I-5 a couple miles south to the Hwy. 58 exit. Follow Hwy. 58 through Pleasant Hill and past both Dexter and Lowell. Park in the large gravel lot on the right near milepost 21. You'll be alongside Goodman Creek and across the highway from Lookout Point Reservoir.
